Sex

Sex is everywhere. Of course it has been for awhile now, but these days it's more 'out there' than ever before.

It's on TV, movies, ads, radio, toys (yes toys), books, the internet (heh); basically anywhere you look from governments to places of worship you will see sex.

What you don't want to see is a 100+ person sex party at the house next door if you live in Duncanville, TX:
DUNCANVILLE, Texas (AP) - The most popular address on Cedar Ridge Drive is Jim Trulock's split- level home, which has a group sex room and attracts as many as 100 people to swinger parties featuring "Naked Twister" nights.

But the festivities could soon be over. In response to neighbors' complaints, the city has outlawed sex clubs in residential areas. Citations have been issued, and search warrants may be next.

"It's crazy that they want to force their morality down our throats," said Dawn Burton, 45, a regular guest at the parties. "We're all frustrated."

So are those who complain of the noise, traffic and parking problems that occur in their otherwise quiet, upscale neighborhood every Friday and Saturday, when Trulock's home is transformed into "The Cherry Pit."

Duncanville, which proclaims itself "The Perfect Blend of Family, Community and Business," is an unlikely venue for a neighborhood swinger club. The city of 36,000 just southwest of Dallas has about 50 places of worship and not a single registered sexually oriented business.

Duncanville officials insist they are not just another prudish Texas town giving the boot to spouse-swappers. They say it all boils down to a matter of law: Trulock is operating a business featuring live sex acts.

Breitbart

Seems to be an issue between privacy and business laws. Everyone should expect privacy in their home for whatever 'deviant' act they are performing. I'm not trying to knock Trulock for his choice of parties and friends, but it seems that maybe they are just a tad bit excessive for his community. With 'admission' charged (donations for food/drinks) and the number of people, it will be difficult for him to win on privacy concerns. I don't know for sure if the town would have handled this differently had it simply been a few friends and not the hassle of parking, noise and whatever, but they don't have to show they would have been on his side in that case.

His lawyer of course will fight for him and there will be court battles, but I can't see this law getting overturned based on what I've read here. There could be other issues not brought up in the article, but I can't imagine what those would have to be to make a difference.

Sen. Craig Resigns

Top story on Yahoo is about Sen. Craig (R-Idaho) resigning after the sex 'sting' in the airport bathroom:
GOP Sen. Craig resigns over sex sting

By JOHN MILLER and MATTHEW DALY, Associated Press Writers 16 minutes ago

BOISE, Idaho - Idaho Sen. Larry Craig resigned Saturday over a men's room sex sting, bowing to pressure from fellow Republicans worried about a scandal dimming their election prospects.

"I apologize for what I have caused. I am deeply sorry," Craig said, his wife Suzanne at his side.

Craig's resignation completed a stunning downfall that began Monday with the disclosure that he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge following his arrest during a sex sting in a Minneapolis airport men's room.

Although leading members of his own party had called for him to step down, Craig steadfastly resisted resigning for days, contending he had done nothing wrong and that his only mistake was pleading guilty Aug. 1 to a misdemeanor charge.(link)
I've read all kind of 'tolerant' people heaping mounds of ridicule on this man, from right-wing people to lefty liberals and their agenda of inclusion. From what I've read (and the audio of the 'arrest') the Senator didn't do much that would be considered illegal. Yes he pled guilty to a misdemeanor, but this small fine has now cost him his job.

I don't really want to get into the Democrats vs Republicans on scandals, but I do want to talk about how they respectively handle them. The Dems will rally around their troublemaker and take a stand, 9 times out of 10 this gets the person off the hook (so to speak) and they continue to serve. The Repubs will circle like sharks in the water and attack. They force resignations at a whim to avoid looking 'bad' in the public (and end up looking bad all the same).

While I personally believe homosexuality is a sin and against G-d, that gives me no right to judge someone for what they believe or do. Had Sen. Craig been caught having sex in a public place, maybe I would feel different about this issue, but he was not. He was caught 'proposing' to have sex, something that happens every minute of every day from schools to bars to public transportation. When that becomes illegal, this country truly will die.

800 Years

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The former roommate of one of the nation's most prolific child molesters was sentenced Friday to at least 800 years in prison for sexually abusing three boys.

Fred Everts, 36, was convicted last year of molesting the youngsters, ages 3, 9 and 11. He was sentenced to 800 years to life.

Police discovered the crimes two years ago while investigating Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller, who authorities say may have molested hundreds of youngsters over decades and kept detailed logs on the children.

Schwartzmiller, 65, was sentenced in January to 152 years in prison for abusing two 12-year-old boys. He and Everts had met in prison on earlier molestation charges and eventually moved in together in San Jose. (link)

This is the kind of sentencing that needs to be done to stop these pedophiles. Note if they had been sentenced this strongly after their previous convictions, these other boys would not have been molested.
