Last night of ball. We won our 1st game 11-10 by scoring in the bottom of the 7th. We won game 2 (the Championship) 16-11 but it was their 1st loss so we played a game 3 (deciding game) and lost 13-7. We were simply gave out.
Ash, our 2nd basemen hurt her knee... she's had 2 surgeries prior and hopefully not a 3rd; keep her in your thoughts.
I went 3-3 / 3-4 / 2-4 for a season total of 44 out of 60 (.733 average).

Softball
We won game 1 of the Tourney 23-7 with continued hitting and defense... Game 2 was against the 2nd place team and they beat us 11-9. We didn't hit until late and had some defensive errors that let them score some runs. I went 3-4 in G1 and 2-4 in G2.

Softball (and baseball natch)
The other team played good defense and held us to 13 runs (the way we were hitting, that's good defense) but we played great defense and shut them out. 13-0 in 5 innings and everyone's home early. I went 2 out of 3 for a season of 31 out of 41 (.756) .. that doesn't count errors / fielder's choices or walks (the walks I didn't count at all, hits or at bats) so my on base percentage is even better heh
In baseball, the Braves won again (14 out of 17) and are 2 back from the Rockies for the wildcard [and 4 back from Philly for the division, but with 6 back, wc is all that is realistic].

Softball
We lost last night 8-4 (team couldn't hit) and still managed to take 1st place in the league (run differential). We got 1 game Monday night and then the tourney starts Tuesday night and we play the winner between the 4 and 5 seeds.
I went 1-3 (my worst night since the 2nd game) and have a batting average of .763 (29 out of 38) so not bad.

Update
Got dumped (that sucked); got my house officially rented (good), we won 2 softball games (good) and I went out (it sucked).
Seems Eve decided to go back to her ex, leaves me hanging, but not my call. She is still going to rent my house, so I can still get an apartment closer to work (at least that's a good thing).
We played 2 games last night and won the 1st game 7-6 in the bottom of the 7th. We had a 5-1 lead going into the final inning and a couple of hits and a home run put them on top. But, we got 2 runs with 1 out to win it.
Game 2 was 9-3 us going into the 6th inning and everyone decided to start hitting again. We plated 19 runs in the top of the 6th and won it 28-3.
Went to the Brick and TK's last night; both sucked, not many people out (I work tonight and tomorrow, so no going out then).
One of my friends from high school is in the hospital (I havn't talked to her in 15 years I'd guess) and I finally got to talk to her last night. She doesn't sound good (and the prognosis is downright awful, she hasn't got much longer).
Nothing really to write about today, I'm still bummed and I need to get some sleep today before work (heh)

Apologies
Went and saw "What Happens in Vegas" last night (it was funny all the way through, plot line needed help at points, but good movie) and threw some darts at the Brick (I don't generally throw darts, but Eve does and I didn't even play any pool).
Yesterday we played golf at a new (to me) course and I shot a (scorching?) 91 (heh); for you golfers out there, I know it sucks, but my best round of the year on a new course. I did finish up with a 6 over on the back 9 to get it that low (6 bogies and 3 pars).
We played 2 softball games Thursday night and we are no longer undefeated. We couldn't hit in either game, we scored 3 in the first (3-11) and 2 in the 2nd (2-3 lost in the bottom of the 7th). So now we're a game back in the standings (the other undefeated team also lost a game) with a showdown with Smoke this coming week.
Work a double time slot tonight and we're going on a family golf outing for Memorial day, so I will try to schedule a tribute to appear then. Maybe the co-bloggers can put something (anything?) out there for you guys (both of you) to read until then.

Softball Update
We had a double header last night (game 1 vs WarHawks and game 2 vs Rage) and came out undefeated (link).
We won the first game 9-2 (had a chance to take it in 5 innings but couldn't push the last run across and then gave up 2 in the 6th) and turned around to play Rage (who were undefeated themselves).
We went up 3-0 on Rage going into the 5th inning before they scored 2 to make it 3-2. We did nothing in the bottom half and Rage tied it up and took the lead in the top of the 6th (5-3). We went scoreless in the 6th and great defense in the 7th to hold the deficit at 2 runs.
We scored 2 runs (on 2 outs) in the bottom of the 7th to extend the game and eventually scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th (1 out, runner on 2nd and a basehit to the left). To go 4 and 0 on the season.
Smoke and us (S&S Electric) are the last 2 unbeatens and it will be a couple of weeks before we play them. We have some hard games coming, but hopefully we can set up a winner-take-all regular season title with Smoke.

Sportsmanship
I've been looking for a video of this all day. Basically a girl blows out her knee after hitting a home-run but before running the bases...

Softball
Game 2 was tonight and we won 16-1 in 4 innings (15 run rule, game 1 was 13-3 in 5 and 10 run rule). The team we played wasn't that good, a lot of first timers, but they seemed to have fun and they (should) will get better. (link to scores we're S&S Electric)
Probably won't be here for fall league or next year, but I'm glad my sis-n-law talked me into playing this year. I've missed the games and the people.

Sports for the week(end)
Had a softball game this week and we won 13-3 in 5 innings. Lil bit was on the camera so the clips were spotty, but there's one of me coaching 3rd just as we change innings:(#69 [yes it probably was perverted once upon a time, now it's simply tradition that I have that number])
After that, lil bit took the training wheels of her bike (sniffle) and tried to learn to ride. She hasn't gotten it yet, but she will (best vid I have of it, not her best ride though)
Finally we had soccer this morning. I didn't get to stay but until half time so I didn't get any good vids. I got one of her making a good block. We left and it was 3-2 (them) just after the half. Lil bit called and told me she scored 2 goals!!! and had 2 more blocks and got defensive player of the game!
Next week I have to work on soccer day, so hopefully someone else can film. We do play ball again this week, so maybe something from that too.

BlogPower Awards II
You guys are taking me way to seriously when I said to vote for Ruthie :( (heh)
The last 2 categories are up (and I am in #20) so get over there and vote for those 2.
Amnesty Bill dieing... slowly, but it is dieing. Congrats to Arizona Women on their win in the CWS for softball... I was worried when Tennessee couldn't close out game 2 in the 5th/6th/7th/8th/9th innings (first time jitters?)
About to go home from work, just wanted to post ;)
Update: 1st post cut all my hyperlinks out o.O
Update 2: Thanks to TD for the banner on my sidebar for the awards.

Softball
The Tennessee Lady Vols started the NCAA tournament in high fashion tonight, downing an overmatched Furman squad 8-0 in 6 innings (mercy rule) behind the stellar pitching of Ace Monica Abbot.
Abbot (43-2) had 13 strike outs versus ZERO hits in leading the Lady Vols past the 1st round. Tennessee, seeded 5th, will face North Carolina next in Knoxville. (Abbot and Rhodes combined on the perfect game)
Tennessee is ranked 1st in one major poll and 2nd in the other, is now 55-5 on the season. How in the world are they seeded 5th? You would think at least some of those other 4 seeds would be better (according to the seedings) yet only Oklahoma is ahead of them in 1 poll and none have the record that the Lady Vols have.
I would hate to see the NCAA Men's Basketball tourey seeded by the same people that did this.
